Instructions

1. Decide what words you want the children to practice saying. Collect a bunch
of pictures or objects illustrating the sound.
2. Introduce and practice the following song, inserting the words you want to
practice. Use fun words such as pickle, lollipop, Popsicle, and pizza.
I Like to Say
I like to say lollipop, lollipop, lollipop.
I like to say lollipop,
Yes I do.
3. Show the children pictures of the object or the object itself.
4. Encourage the children to choose the words they like to say.
More to do
Use fun sounds instead of words. For example, la la la la; zoom zoom; pop, pop,
pop; buzzing; hissing; a raspberry sound; and farm animal sounds.
Books: Read fun and silly word play books to expand the children's ideas.
Games: Make it a game by putting paperclips on the pictures and using a string
and a magnet to "fish" for sounds and words to sing.
