Instructions

1. Make decorative certificates with the words "My Goal This Month" at the
top. In the middle of the certificate write," For the month of __________ I
would like to _____________________."
2. At the start of each month, show the children the certificates and ask
them to consider something new they would like to do before the
month ends. Suggest modest goals, such as playing a game with a child
they've never played with before, drawing a picture of something new,
tasting a new fruit or vegetable, teaching a younger brother or sister
how to do something, and so on.
3. Individually ask each child her goal, and write it on the certificate. After
you have written all of the children's goals, let them share their goals
with the class, if they wish.
4. As children accomplish goals, share successes with the class.
