What to do
1. Ahead of time, draw the outlines of children's clothing on white construction paper. You might
draw pants, shorts, shirts, dresses, hats, coats, and swimsuits.
2. Invite the children to tell about their favorite kinds of clothing.
3. Give each child an outline shape of her favorite kind of clothing.
4. Encourage the children to decorate the plain clothing outlines to look like their favorite piece
of clothing.
5. Have the children cut the decorated clothing items out with scissors.
6. Give them clothespins and tell them to hang the items on a length of clothesline strung along
a classroom wall.
