Instructions
1. Build a partnership with families so they can help their children transition to
school on a daily basis.
2. Post a guideline for families on the door of your classroom. This will inform
them of activities for the week or month. By doing this, the parent will know
what the child is doing without having to ask. Below is a sample of a
weekly/monthly learning activity plan:
For the week/month of ____, we'll be learning about:
Colors: red, green, yellow, blue, and orange
Number: 5
Farm Animals: cow, pig, and horse
Art: mixing colors, red and yellow, blue and yellow
Story Time: relating colors to farm animals. We are reading:
* Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey
* One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Suess
Baking: baking orange cookies
Fingerplay: "I Have Five Fingers"
Music: "The Farmer in the Dell," "5 Is Such a Pretty Number"
Special Day: Next Monday is "Green Day." Wear or bring something green
to school.
