Materials
- Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Paper
- Varied selections of music
What to do
1. Supply the children with paint, brushes, and paper.
2. Play selections of music that call to mind different kinds of weather such as snowfall, a thunderstorm, and a hot, sunny day.
3. Encourage the children to listen to the music and paint a picture that reflects what they hear and how they feel.
More to do
- Language: Record the weather in a journal; ask the children to describe something they do on a rainy day, on a windy day, in the snow, or during a thunderstorm.
- More art: Design a colorful weather journal.
