Instructions

1. Cut 5" strips of construction paper, write each child's name on a strip (one
name per strip), and laminate for durability. Attach Velcro to the strip to
make it into a bracelet.
2. When each child arrives in the classroom, fasten a strip to his wrist. Remind
him of the color's name, and explain that the bracelet will be used for
something later in the day.
3. When it is time to line up, call out colors. "If you have a blue bracelet, you may
join the line."
4. As each child joins the line, remove his bracelet. Link the bracelets together
and hang it for the children to see.
More to do Art: Make color strips using only primary or secondary colors, and teach these
color concepts.
Math: Count the links in the chain, and then count the number of children in
the class to show one-to-one correspondence.
More Math: Count the number of links of each individual color and discuss the
concepts of "most" and "least."
