Where Is Blue Bird by Shelley Hoster
(Tune: "Where Is Thumbkin?")
Where is blue bird, where is blue bird?
Here I am, Here I am.
How are you today, sir?
I think I'll fly away, sir.
Then, fly away, fly away!
4. Repeat the song with other colors until all the birds have been revealed. Then
sing the last verse:
Where are all the birds, where are all
the birds?
Here we are, here we are!
We can name your colors now,
All of you have shown us how!
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
l Can the children locate and name other classroom objects that are the same
colors as the images of the birds?
l Can the children act out the fingerplay themselves for their friends?
