Instructions

1. This is a great activity to do in December, before the New Year arrives.
2. Encourage the children to cut different kinds of wrapping paper into
small pieces.
3. Give each child a piece of oak tag. Demonstrate how to glue the paper
pieces onto the oak tag in mosaic form. Make sure the entire piece of oak
tag is covered.
4. Take a picture of each child. Ask them to tape their photos to the top of
their decorative paper.
5. Obtain a small monthly calendar for each child. If this is not possible,
make photocopies of the pages of a calendar, enough so that each child
gets a full year.
6. Help the children staple their calendars underneath their mosaic
pictures.
7. Punch two holes in the oak tag, one on each top corner of the paper.
8. Tie a string through the holes to make a wall hanging.
9. These make great gifts for parents.
