M&Ms(R)
markers chart paperInstructions
1. Give each child a small handful of M&Ms. Ask the children to sort the candy
by color.
2. When the children are finished sorting the M&Ms, have them count how
many of each color they have.
3. Transfer their results onto chart paper. You might want to make a column for
red, green, brown, and yellow M&Ms at the bottom of the paper. Then write
each child's name on the left side of the paper. Fill in the number of each
color for each child.
4. Ask questions about which color was represented the most and the least.
