Materials

2 half-gallon (2 L) containers of colored water, one blue and one red 4 small serving trays 4 medicine or eyedroppers1 package small, clear plastic dosage-type cups (available at medical supply shops or party supply stores) 8 small (8 oz. or 250 ml) clear plastic drinking cups

Instructions

1. In advance, mix up two batches of colored water (3-5 drops of food coloring per half-gallon are sufficient).

2. Set out the four trays. Each tray should contain 2 8-oz. cups, 4 to 5 smaller cups and 1 medicine or eyedropper.

3. Fill the 8 oz. cups halfway with one of the two water solutions.

4. Allow the children to mix the waters to form a new color.

5. Dispose of the water after each child finishes so that the next child has fresh water.More to doArt: Mix colors by melting crayons.
