Instructions

1. Read the following action rhyme and model the motions for the
children.
The caterpillar crawls around,
Munching tasty leaves of green. (pretend to pick a leaf and eat it)
Then he spins a soft cocoon (spin around)
Where inside he can't be seen.
When it's time, he "pops" right out (jump one step forward)
And stretches both left and right. (stretch out arms)
He feels the warm sunlight on his wings,
Flaps them and flies out of sight. (flap arms and "fly" around)
2. Repeat the action rhyme as desired so the children can use the motions
again.
