Instructions
1. Read Growing Vegetable Soup to the children. Discuss the vegetables mentioned in the story.2. Help the children wash their hands.3. Open the can of chicken broth and pour it into the crock-pot.4. Help the children wash the vegetables and cut them into small pieces, peeling if necessary. Supervise this step closely.5. Talk about each vegetable as it is added to the soup, noting its texture and color. Stir and heat the soup until the vegetables are tender (approximately three hours depending on the size of the vegetables).6. Add the pasta ten to fifteen minutes before serving.7. Let the soup cool before eating.
