Instructions

What to do
Note: For this activity, you might wish to work with one child at a time, helping that child print her
own drawing on a T-shirt.
1. Ask a child to make a pencil drawing on paper.
2. Cut away edges of the meat tray to make a flat surface.
3. Using a pencil, trace the child's original drawing onto the meat tray.
4. Paint the meat tray drawing with fabric paints. It helps to decide on colors prior to painting. Put
a small amount of the chosen colors on a clean meat tray and have multiple paintbrushes to
allow for a quick application of the paint to the child's drawing.
5. Invite the child to carefully flip the painted drawing and print it onto the T-shirt. The drawing
can be outlined with black fabric paint for accent.
More to do
More art: Set out an old bedsheet and let the children work together to print designs on it. This
activity could also be done with tempera paints on paper, if desired.
