Instructions

1. Create a class book about bugs. Use the sentence frame "If I were a bug,
I would be a __________________ because________________." Let each
child in class contribute a page.
2. Pass out several pages with the above text written on them, and help the
children fill in the blanks. The children can write or draw anything in the
second space about the insect images they paste in the first space. Ask them to
write their names on their page.
3. When the children
complete their pages for the
book, gather all the pages
and bind them together
using paper fasteners or
a stapler.
4. Read the class book
aloud with the children
at circle time.
5. Encourage the children
to read the book in the
library area.
Assessment
Consider the following:
* How well do the children participate in making the class book?
* Do the children listen attentively as the book is read aloud?
