Materials

Instructions

1. Cut out two heart shapes from each pattern of wallpaper (make at least 20 hearts in 10 different patterns).

2. On the back, label each heart pair with a numeral and the corresponding number of dots. For example, write a 5 on one heart in the pair and draw five dots on the matching heart. Store the hearts in a manila envelope.

3. Encourage the children to match the pairs based on the numerals and the dots. When they have found a pair, have them turn the hearts over to see if the patterns match.

4. Children can play individually or with partners.
