Instructions

l Place paper and crayons on the tables. On each table, have ladybug pictures
for the children to look at and copy if they want.
What to Do
1. Sit in a circle and talk about ladybugs. Ask the children if they have seen
ladybugs or know anything about them. Do the children know that ladybugs
are helpful insects because they eat bugs that eat plants?
2. Encourage the children to talk about plants and bugs, flowers and gardens, and
how these are interrelated.
3. Show them pictures of ladybugs in books or magazines. Also show pictures of
other insects so they can see the differences.
4. The children will draw and color ladybug pictures at the tables. Have them
write their names on the pictures. Display their artwork. Encourage family
members and caregivers to look at their children's pictures.
