Instructions
1. Gather a group of about 5-6 children around you. Ask the children to stand
for this activity.
2. Tell them they will match the body part that goes with the activity or action
you name. For example, if you say, "Feed yourself," what body parts are
involved in this action (hands and mouth)?
3. Tell them that you will name an action and then point to a child, who will
either name the body part or show it.
4. Make sure everyone is attentive, then begin stating actions one at a time.
Below is a list to get you started:
talking brushing teeth
tying shoes running
jumping swimming
drawing walking
playing drums reading books
listening to music kicking a ball
ice skating setting the table
5. Each time you state an action, point to a new child to label or show the
appropriate body part.
6. Be sure all the children are given an opportunity to participate. Either go
around the group again or have the children take turns naming actions that
the others need to match for body parts.
