Instructions

1. Use a corrugated box or lid to a copy paper box to create a parking lot for Matchbox (c) cars. Using a ruler and a marker, draw parking spaces on the box lid.

2. Write a numeral in each parking space. Vary this activity depending on the age and skill level of the children. For very young children, you might make parking spaces using the numerals 1 to 5. For older children, you might use numeric words to match to the numerals.

3. Apply number stickers or tape with numerals written on them to the cars. Number them to match the parking spaces.

4. As the children return vehicles to the parking area, they will have the challenge of finding the correct spot.

5. This is a great addition to the road play mats or block construction zones.
