Instructions
1. Give each child a paper plate and a slice of bread.2. Show the children how to use a cookie cutter or jar lid to cut out a circle from the bread. (Save the leftover pieces of bread for additional snacks or toast them to make croutons.)3. Encourage the children to scoop a spoonful of cheese spread and spread it on the bread using a plastic knife.4. Make pumpkin faces using sliced olives for eyes and a nose and pimento for a mouth.5. Eat the pumpkins!PoemTeach the children the following poem:Five little pumpkins sitting on the gate,The first one says, "Oh my, it's getting late!"The second one says, "There are witches in the air."The third one says, "But we don't care."The fourth one says, "Let's run and run and run."The fifth one says, "I'm ready for some fun.""Ooo-wee!" said the owlAnd out went the light,And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
