Instructions

1. Fold construction paper in half widthwise (five pieces per child). Punch two holes into one side of each piece of paper.2. Give each child five pieces of folded paper.3. Ask the children to choose five textured items, one for each page. Be creative. The goal is to provide the children with different textures to experience.4. Encourage the children to glue the items on the pages.5. Give each child a piece of yarn and help her thread the yarn through the two holes on each page and tie the yarn into a bow. Her book is complete.More to doPut a sample of each of the different textures into a bag. Ask the children to take turns reaching in (without looking) and describing how the item feels (smooth, rough, soft, hard, and so on).
