Roasted unsalted peanuts Blender

Plastic spatula Peanut oil

Crackers

Instructions

1. Pour one cup (250 ml) of peanuts into the blender.

2. Add about 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of peanut oil.

3. Set the blender on "grind" and run it several minutes until the peanuts are ground smooth, stopping periodically to scrape the sides of the blender with the spatula.The following rhyme is fun to use with this activity:A peanut sat on the railroad track,His heart was all a flutter to A train came roarin' "round the bend to "Toot! Toot! Peanut butter!"4. Spread the peanut butter on crackers and enjoy!More to doMath: Let the children practice filling the measuring cup with peanuts and point out one-half, three-fourths and one cup.
