Instructions
1. Show the children pictures of people wearing leis. Explain that leis are a
sign of love, welcome, honor, and joy.
2. Provide Styrofoam packing peanuts and strips of green construction
paper.
3. Help children alternately string packing peanuts and strips of green
paper to make leis.
4. Place a tree branch in a coffee can filled half way with sand. Store leis on
the branches until your luau!
Provide cutout paper flowers instead of packing peanuts.
