Materials

empty clear pepper or sugar shaker

PVA glue

fine glitter

sticky label

colored pens

Instructions

1. While waiting for lunch or snack, talk about how cooking changes food. Ask
the children to think of foods that change after they've been cooked.
2. Tell the children that they are going to pretend to be different kinds of food.
First they will be uncooked food, and then they will become a cooked food.
3. Encourage them to act like an uncooked spaghetti noodle and stand
straight. Then they can be a cooked noodle. Demonstrate what this might
look like.
4. Show them a variety of cooked and uncooked foods, such as popcorn, pizza
dough, and butter.
