Materials

Magnetic letters copy machine scissors construction paper glue photo of each child clear contact paper or laminating machine, optional magnet board or metal sheet

Instructions

1. Place magnetic letters on the copy machine and make multiple copies. Cut out each letter.

2. Glue the letters on a piece of construction paper to form a child's name in the class. Make one for each child. Add a photo (or photocopy) of the child. Laminate them, if desired.

3. Invite the children to place matching magnetic letters on top of their name cards. This can be done with or without a magnet board. (Use bar magnets to hold the name card down.) The children can try to find their friends' names as well.

4. Make word cards of other words with the magnets.
