hot glue gun (adult only) or tape

various toy cars, planes, or things that move

round or square magnets

magnet wand

Instructions

1. Read a few books about ponds and show pictures, if available. Have a
discussion about ponds.
2. Fill the water table with water and place a large, low plastic bin filled
with sand next to the water table.
3. Encourage the children to use water cans, shovels, and small sheets of
plastic to create their own ponds. Show them how to dig a hole, line it
with plastic, cover with gravel, and add water.
4. Help the children problem-solve if their pond leaks.
