Materials

Magnetic wand, found in most magnet kits 2-3 colored magnetic paper clips2-3 colored magnetic marbles One 16 oz. (500 ml) plastic bottle without label

Instructions

1. Fill plastic bottle to the top with water.

2. Drop paper clips and marbles into the bottle.

3. The child or teacher holds the bottle (which is placed on the floor or on a table).

4. The child places the magnetic wand against the outside of the bottle. Hold the wand steady until the clips and marbles attach to the wand.

5. Have the child slowly slide the wand up the side of the bottle. Keep the wand on the bottle all the way up to the neck of the bottle.

6. When the wand gets to the top of the bottle, the clips and marbles will jump out of the bottle and onto the wand, forming a line. The children will be amazed!
