Instructions

1. If the children must line up for an activity, encourage them to practice
writing by using their fingers to "write" on the back of the child in front of
them. Not only will this give them practice in printing, it will also feel good
and calm them down.
2. The child who is first in line will have to write in the air, and the child who is
last in line will not have anyone writing on his back. If a child is
uncomfortable with being touched, leave him at the end of the line. If not,
make sure these two children trade places with two other children after an
appropriate time.
3. At other times in the day, have the children pair up and write their name on
their partner's back. Each child has a turn to write and be written upon. If
possible, play soothing, background music to promote calmness and
enjoyment.
