Barnyard Lullaby by Frank Asch
Instructions
1. Since many three-year-olds can't recognize their written name, this tip will
help them not only recognize the letters of their name but also where to hang
their coat, put their lunch box, stand in line, and so on.
2. On the first day of class, ask each child to pick a pack of their favorite animal
stickers. Make sure that each pack has all the same animal in it.
3. Then, wherever you write that child's name, place his animal sticker beside it.
For example, write the name "Mike" on a tag on Mike's desk, and then place
his elephant sticker beside his nametag.
4. The children will begin to recognize the letters of their name every time they
see their animal sticker. They will also know that if their animal is on a desk, it
must be their desk.
