What to do
1. Teach "Little Boy Blue" to the children.
Little Boy Blue
Come blow your horn.
The sheep's in the meadow.
The cows in the corn.
Where is the little boy
Who looks after the sheep?
He's under the haystack
Fast asleep.
Shall I wake him?
No! Not I.
For if I do, he's sure to cry.
2. At the art table, have white paper and many shades of blue paint available.
3. Encourage the children to paint using only the blue colors.
4. Introduce words like "dark blue" and "sky blue" to expand vocabulary.
More to do
More art: Go on a "blue hunt" to look for other blue items around the classroom. Make a blue collage
of blue items.
