Cassette tape to accompany children's book, if available
Self-sticking labels or paper and tape
Instructions
1. In advance, make a cat booklet for each child. Trace a cat pattern onto one
sheet of white construction paper per child and on two sheets of white
drawing paper for each child. Cut them out.
2. Staple the white construction paper on top of the two white sheets of
drawing paper.
3. Read the story Cat Colors to the children.
4. After reading the story, give each child a booklet.
5. Ask the children to choose their favorite color. Then, ask them to color the
cat on the front sheet using that color crayon.
6. Then, on the next cat page, ask them to dictate why that color is their favorite
while you write down the words.
7. On the last page, help them find things in a magazine or draw things that are
their favorite color.
