picture of a lamb

name card for each child in your class

pocket chart

Instructions

1. Print the question: "Which would you rather be?" on a tagboard header
card. Write "lion" and "lamb" on separate tagboard cards. Glue a picture of
each animal next to the word.

2. Make a column for each answer choice underneath the question.
3. Place the header card in the top pocket of a pocket chart.
4. Tell the children the phrase, "March comes in like a lion, and goes out like
a lamb." Explain what it means.
5. Give each child a name card. Ask them to place their name cards in the
pocket chart in the column that represents their choice.
6. Count the responses and compare the results.
