Instructions

1. To help pass time when children are waiting for the next activity, try this
activity.
2. Choose a concept to practice identifying (shape, color, number, or letter).
3. Take turns calling each child's name and pointing to or holding up a flash
card of the shape (or color, etc.) for him to identify. If time allows, continue
until each child has had a few turns.
More to do Expand the concepts as the year progresses by adding more challenging
concepts, such as reciting nursery rhymes using pictures or counting items and
finding the corresponding number. Or, choose a child to call names and point
to the shapes.
