Instructions
1. Talk with the children about the kinds of environments where people live.
Talk about cities, suburbs, small towns, rural areas, and so on. Ask the children
how they would describe the place they live in. Tell the children that in cities,
many people live close together.
2. Show the children the materials. Pair the children together, and invite the pairs
to work together to make buildings.
3. After the children finish building,
invite them to come together and
make one city neighborhood out
of their buildings. Talk with the
children about how they will have
to cooperate to make everything
fit together.
