Instructions

1. Explain to the children what a riddle is.

2. Tell them the traditional riddle "Legs!"LegsTwo legs sat upon three legs,With one leg in his hand;In comes four legs,Runs away with one leg;Up jumps two legs,Catches up three legs,Throws it after four legs,And makes him bring back one leg.

3. Encourage the children to try and work out what each number of legs represents (two legs: man; three legs: stool; four legs: dog; one leg: chicken leg or leg of lamb).

4. Add up the number of legs in the riddle.
