Instructions

l Write a season's name inside each file
folder. On the front of each, glue a
picture representing the season.
What To Do
1. Begin by talking with the children
about the seasons. Ask the children
what people do and wear during the
different seasons.
2. Ask four children to come to the front
of the class. Give each of the children a folder.
3. Invite those children to peak inside their folders to see what season
folder they are holding, but ask them not to tell the other children.
4. Hand out seasonal images to the other children.
5. Challenge the children in the class to take turns identifying the activities
on their cards and then naming the seasons in which people normally
do those activities.
6. The children then bring their images up to the children at the front of
the class and put the images in the correct folders, saying the names of
the seasons as they do so.
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
l Can the children describe activities that people do in the various
seasons?
l Can the children identify which images belong in which folders?
