Heavier weight paper or white cardboard (3" x 12"-15" (7 cm x 30-37 cm)

Instructions
1. Remove the metal connectors from the hose.
2. Cut the hose into 3' (1 m) segments. Cut the dowel into 2" (5 cm) segments.
3. Force one half of a dowel piece into one end of a hose piece, making sure it
fits tightly.
4. Force the other end of the dowel piece into the opposite end of the hose,
forming a circle.
5. Use the circles to do the following activities:
* To teach spatial concepts: Ask the children to step inside the circle,
walk around the circle, step over the circle, stand beside the circle,
hold the circle in one hand and put their other hand through the circle,
put their free hand under the circle, then over the circle.
* To teach body parts: Place the circles on the floor and ask the children
to put their hands, then feet, knees, elbow, fingers, toes, heels, chins,
and noses (be prepared for laughter!) inside the circle.
* Rhythmic activity: Put on a record and practice hopping into and out of
the circles in time to the music.
