Clean 12-ounce juice cans, one for each child
Construction paper in pastel colors
Felt
Glue
Newspaper
Paint in a variety of bright colors
Shallow containers
Fresh green leaves in various shapes, about 3" long
Paintbrushes
Clear adhesive paper
Instructions
1. Read the book If to the children. During group time, ask the children to think
of their own "What if..."
2. After you brainstorm in the group, give the children paper and markers to
draw their ideas.
3. Ask the children to tell you something about their drawings and write their
responses on their paper.
4. Display the artwork on a bulletin board entitled "What If..." or make a class
book.
5. Read the ideas to all the children. They will find them very funny.
