Instructions

* Canada Day is July 1st.
1. Create maple leaf patterns using tagboard
2. Tape the leaf stencils to the tables.
3. Give each child a piece of white construction paper.
4. Show the children how to place the paper over the leaf patterns.
5. Ask them to rub crayons over the leaf patterns.
6. Cover the front and back of the paper with contact paper to make
placemats.
7. Children can set the table with their placemats and pretend to celebrate
Canada Day.
More to do Hang a cut-out tree shape on a wall. Take the children outside to look for
green leaves. Attach the leaves to the paper tree. In the autumn, remove a
leaf each day, and place a colored leaf in its place. Observe the children to
see whether they notice the changes in the leaves.
