Materials

Red construction paper

Scissors

Black construction paper or round stickers

Glue

Sponges and black paint, optional

Black markers or crayons

Instructions

1. Ahead of time, cut one circle shape from red construction paper for each child. Cut small circularladybug spots from the black construction paper.

2. Have the children add black dots to their circle by gluing the paper dots or attaching the stickerdots. Show the children how to sponge paint their ladybug, if desired.

3. When the children have finished the spots, encourage them to add details such as eyes or theoutline of wings with black markers or crayons.More to doOutdoors: Look for ladybugs on leaves and plants around the building.Snack: Make a ladybug snack by attaching raisins with cream cheese to halves of strawberries.Lay the strawberries on a bed of lettuce.
