Instructions

What to do
1. Ahead of time, cut poster board shapes that resemble the top of a jellyfish. Punch holes along
the bottom edge of each jellyfish.
2. Invite the children to decorate their poster board jellyfish with colored glue and glitter glue in
any design.
3. Set the jellyfish aside to dry.
4. If the children would like to decorate their yarn with beads, show them how to thread the
beads onto the yarn and tie a knot around the bead. Encourage younger children to use the
extra-large beads.
5. Help the children lace the yarn through the holes, then tie a knot to secure the yarn.
More to do
More art: Cut a jellyfish from felt or other fabric and create a simple marionette using dowels and
strings; have the children move the jellyfish through its habitat.
Movement: Play a selection of graceful music and invite the children to mimic a jellyfish pushed
along by the waves or swimming by means of jet propulsion.
