Instructions
1. Mount an unbreakable mirror low on the wall so that infants can see
themselves in it when they are on the floor or in a low seat.
2. Play peek-a-boo in front of the mirror with the baby. Using a small cloth,
make the baby "disappear." Remove the cloth and say, "Peek-a-boo!"
3. Talk to the baby while he is looking in the mirror. Talk about his hair,
eyes, mouth, and so on. Be sure to use his name and point to his image
so that he knows the reflection is him.
4. Encourage the child to look at himself throughout the daily routine. You
might want to put a mirror at the changing table.
