Materials

jump ropes (1 per child)

Instructions

1. Show the children how to use the jump ropes to form numerals on the ground.

2. Encourage the children to make the numerals 0 to 9, then have them pick up the ropes and jump that many times. For example, if a child makes the numeral 7, he would jump rope seven times.

3. If the children cannot jump rope, have them place the ropes on the ground and jump over them instead.
