10 to 20 groups of 3 of the same items in varying sizes

Instructions

1. Collect 10 to 20 groups of three of the same items in different sizes. For example, a small, medium, and large block; a small, medium, and large pencil; a small, medium, and large bowl, and so on.

2. Invite the children to make patterns of the different objects (large, medium, small; or large, small, large, small; and so on). For example, they might make a pattern like this: small ball, large ball, small eraser, large eraser, small cup, large cup, and so on.

3. Ask the children to describe aloud the size patterns they are making.
