Instructions
1. When talking to an infant or playing games like peek-a-boo, watch for
cues from the infant that he is responding to the interaction. For
example, if you are playing peek-a-boo and the baby makes a sound or
reaches in some way, acknowledge the interaction on the part of the
baby.
2. If the baby laughs, you could say something about what he is laughing
at or if the baby reaches for something, say, "You must like that!"
3. This helps the child learn that he can make things happen by his sounds
or actions.
4. If a baby is babbling or making sounds, talk to him. Let him know that
language is a good thing.
5. Whenever you interact with a child, learn to "read" his cues and
respond accordingly.
