Instructions

l Cut out several circles from each color of construction paper.
l Write the name of the color on the circle; then attach each circle to a craft
stick.
What to Do
1. Begin by reviewing all colors
with the children. Have the
children name each color as
you hold up each color stick.
Ask the children what two
colors make other colors. For
example, "What two colors
make the color green?"
2. You might want to make
enough so that each child has
one of each color. Call out a
color and have the children
hold up the correct one. Ask
each child to hold up a specific color.
3. Have the children trade colors with each other.
4. Encourage older children to read color names. Also, ask the older children to
identify the letter their color starts with. For example, "Hold up the color that
begins with the letter R."
Assessment
To assess the children's learning, consider the following:
l Can the children identify the various colors, letters, and words discussed
