Instructions

1. Talk to children about 1" measurements. Explain that 12 inches equal 1 foot. Show them a ruler and point out the inch marks.

2. Measure all the children using a wall chart. Mark each child's name and height on the wall next to the chart. You can put a large piece of butcher paper next to the chart to write on.

3. For older children, measure their height in feet, and help them convert their height measurements to inches.

4. If a child is 3'6", ask the children if she is taller in inches because she is 42". Use words such as taller, shorter, tallest, and shortest.
