Instructions
1. If desired, cut sponges into geometric shapes, letters, and so on. Then, thoroughly rinse the sponges several times with fresh water.
2. Line a waterproof container with the sponges.
3. Encourage the children to sprinkle small amounts of cress seed lightly on sponges.
4. Place the container in an area where there is some sunlight. Keep the sponges moist with water.
5. The cress is ready to eat when it has grown about 1 1/2 " (4 cm) and has grown its third pair of leaves.More to do: Art: Experiment using different shades of green paint.More Art: Cut out pictures from seed catalogs or magazines.
