Instructions
1. Place a variety of quiet activities at a table, such as puzzles, paper, crayons,
and other small motor skills toys.
2. At the end of free play time, flash the lights to alert the class to cleanup time.
3. As the children finish cleaning up their areas, let them go to "table toy time."
Encourage them to sit at the table and quietly work on the small motor
activities. This is a quieting transition activity and not only does it settle the
class down before moving on to the rest of the day, but it also gives
everyone a chance to work on their small motor skills.
4. Have this transition time last for 10 to 15 minutes before moving on to the
next activity.
