Instructions
1. Mark each bone with a letter code such as A1 or C3 to identify it. If desired,
let the children help label the bones and develop their own system of
labeling.
2. Put out the bones and encourage children to use the measuring tools to
measure each bone. Children may work individually, in pairs, or in groups.
3. Ask children to write the code of each bone and its length on a piece of
paper.
4. Children can trace the bones on their paper and write descriptions for them.
5. Encourage children to compare their results.
More to do Sand Table: Hide the bones in a sandbox or the sand table. The children can
hunt for the bones as if they were paleontologists.
Math: Use the bones for sorting activities.
