Instructions

1. Read Are You My Mother? and encourage each child to tell something fun
that his family does.
2. Make family trees. Give each child a piece of manila paper, scissors, paste,
crayons, and colored paper.
3. Help the children trace their hand and forearm on the paper. The forearm
represents the trunk and the fingers depict branches. Ask the children to
draw themselves and write their names at the base of the tree.
4. Ask the children to draw or trace one leaf for every family member on the
colored paper.
5. Encourage them to cut out the leaves and paste them on the tree. Then they
can draw pictures on each leaf representing the family members.
